SCHOOL TOUR

Education is key to the work we do. The more people we engage the more influential we are in creating a world based in empathy and compassion instead of violence and heartlessness.

We have an open invitation to the local schools to bring their students for tours. Unfortunately, because San Luis Obispo County is so sympathetic to the Animal Ag industry we have not reached as many children and their families as we would have liked. When people, especially children, get “up close” with rescued animals normally thought of as “food” they can be reached in profound ways. 

This is one of the many reasons we are seeking a bigger and better location closer to a larger population base. By offering frequent in-person events we hope to reach more people who will hear our message of inclusion and we want to be welcomed by a strong and thriving community that is like-minded with our mission of compassion.

That having been said, we had a wonderful time hosting a tour from a local elementary school in March. The children were all interested and enthusiastic and our animals enjoyed meeting them. It was one of those gorgeous California spring days and the children and their chaperones stayed for a fun vegan picnic. Such a memorable and very special day.
